摘要: Summary Background Norovirus outbreaks in hospitals remain a substantial threat despite many recommendations for prevention published recently. Aim To analyse the factors contributing to onset of norovirus outbreak order identify new options. Methods Data from 71 occurring five German between 2002 and 2012 were analysed focusing on start conditions: weekday outbreak, time span first symptomatic cases date, timing positive test result an presence concomitant Clostridium difficile infections. Findings In 68 (96%) index identifiable. 30 44 (68%) case patient acquired infection hospital. 20% all outbreaks, was staff member. Nine caused by not isolating contact patients during incubation after their exposure case. Case numbers lower when results available before ( P  = 0.028). 46 (64%) C. difficile toxin tests up ten patients. Co-infection or subsequent with single occurred nine (20%) outbreaks. Conclusion Future strategies should focus only but also staff. Constant surveillance diarrhoea vomiting timely adherence precautions exposed persons is crucial control, as need extended microbiological testing.
