摘要: Abstract The shells of non-marine molluscs are common in many calcareous deposits the kind frequently associated with archaeological sites. study these fossils has hitherto centred mainly on their value as environmental indicators, but it is clear that they can also be used basis a simple biostratigraphical zonation system, especially for period prior to about 5000 BP. Such scheme proposed below, applicable southern Britain, and spanning Devensian late-glacial Flandrian (Postglacial).
