Dynamical mechanism of the stratospheric quasi-biennial oscillation impact on the South China Sea Summer Monsoon

摘要: The National Center for the Atmospheric Research (NCAR) middle atmospheric model is used to study effects of quasi-biennial oscillation in stratosphere (QBO) on tropopause and upper troposphere, relationship between QBO South China Sea Summer Monsoon (SCSSM) explored through NCEP (the Centers Environmental Prediction)/NCAR, ECMWF (European Centre Medium-Range Weather Forecasts) monthly mean wind data situ sounding data. simulations show that QBO-induced residual circulations propagate downwards, affect troposphere during periods mid-late phase transition. Meanwhile, diagnostic analyses indicate anomalous circulation similar SCSSM generated strengthen easterly Hadley-like weakens westerly. Though has by meridional circulation, it not a sole mechanism TBO mode.
