摘要: The physical principle of geomagnetically induced currents (GICs) in power transmission grids during geomagnetic disturbances is directly based on Faraday’s law induction. By saturating transformers GICs may disturb systems, and the risk great particular at auroral latitudes where are most intense. However until now, practically no inconveniences have been observed Finnish system, but studies 400 kV grid including both measurements theoretical calculations going on. This paper deals with research work done Finland. largest recorded GIC flowing through a transformer into earth 165 A, estimates indicate possibility even several hundreds amperes system very storms.
