摘要: Introduction Interests in using information technology and specifically the Internet for epidemiological research (e- epidemiology) are increasing since it is expected to add several advantages traditional modes of data collection. These may include increased response rates, improved quality a more rapid cost-efficient method collection study population recruitment. In this study, we provide an overview latest developments relatively new field within epidemiologic research, focusing on methods recruitment participants. Conclusion Information offers many possibilities large-scale studies: current e-epidemiology show promising results, especially with regard Web-based questionnaires, which showed that depending population, rates questionnaires be higher than paper-based questionnaires. However, future should focus internal external validity collected, as well other aspects e- including participant through Internet, use Web 2.0 content, smartphone applications, short message service videoconferencing, inherent privacy ethical concerns.
