摘要: The shape of detrital quartz grains, mainly acquired under the effect mechanical transport agents, has been observed and described for a long time by sedimentologists. roughness these grains is recognized as an important parameter analyzing sediments, but to quantify this with discriminant measure can be difficult. By using concept multiresolution analysis wavelet formalism, we develop descriptor particles, possessing multiscale capabilities. It allows analyses wear erosion phenomena acting on particles decomposing information into different resolution levels, each level corresponding scale. Thus it becomes possible differentiate coarse from finer grain's outline. This invariant affine geometric transformation therefore used compare sands stemming wide range natural environments. An application classification along comparison Fourier fractal grain analysis, illustrates performance method.
