Rotational Transition in Polar Molecules by Electron Collisions : Applications to CN and HCl

摘要: By the close-coupling calculation cross sections are evaluated for rotational transitions by low energy (0.01∼10 eV) electron impact in two polar molecules, CN and HCl. The from ground state of rotation considered σ( l =→ =0), σ(0→1), σ(0→2) calculated, representing molecule. For comparison with Born approximation is made it shown that results fairly accurate even a quite large dipole moment (at least up to 1 e 0 , being Bohr radius). There occurs shape resonance elastic process 0→0, which may explain peak appearing at about 10 eV incident measured total section -HCl collision. Finally dependence calculated on discussed.
