摘要: SummaryObjective Most prolactinomas in females are diagnosed during the reproductive age, and majority microadenomas. Prolactinomas detected postmenopausal period less common with limited published data on their presentation prognosis. Our objective was to assess presenting clinical, biochemical imaging findings, as well outcomes of women a prolactinoma period. Design methods We undertook retrospective cohort study after menopause followed up large UK pituitary centre. Information presentation, management collected. Results Seventeen median age at diagnosis 63 years (range 52-78) were identified. Headaches and/or visual deterioration most commonly reported complaints detection adenoma (47%). Acute apoplexy or follow-up 18% cases. The serum prolactin 12 364 mU/L 2533-238 479). Macroprolactinomas comprised 94% tumours, 88% them had supra/parasellar extension. All patients macroprolactinoma offered dopamine agonist, normal achieved (median 91.5 months). Adenoma shrinkage observed all women. Improvement resolution disturbances documented 86% cases. Conclusions The clinical phenotype is characterized by dominance macroadenomas, frequent extension relative high rate acute apoplexy. In this group patients, response macroadenomas agonists good.
