Osmotic shock pre-treatment of Chaetoceros muelleri wet biomass enhanced solvent-free lipid extraction and biogas production

摘要: Abstract An integrated system for biodiesel and biogas production the diatom Chaetoceros muelleri was evaluated. We assessed suitability of osmotic shock pre-treatment wet microalgal biomass lipid extraction production. Osmotic released up to 72% C. content. Biogas pre-treated lipid-spent microalgae evaluated by biomethane potential tests operating two continuous anaerobic reactors 200 days. improvement 35% in methane observed with batch conditions, a maximum yield 521 mL CH4 g VS−1. The experiments fluctuated between 0.3 0.7 L CH4 g VS−1, an average 0.52 L CH4 g VS−1. No significant differences were without both conditions. energy combined biodiesel-biogas biorefinery has been estimated at 20.5 KJ gVS−1 harvested microalgae.
