摘要: Evolutionary divergence among species of the yeast genus Saccharomyces was estimated from measurements deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)/DNA and ribosomal ribonucleic (RNA)/DNA homology. Much diversity found in DNA base sequences with several showing little or no homology to three reference species, S. cerevisiae, lactis, fragilis. These also showed each other. On other hand RNA small since most a high degree species. The arrangement based on homologies agrees cases current taxonomic groupings. A hybrid (S. fragilis × lactis) shown contain two nonhomologous genomes. minimum genome size 9.2 109 daltons for cerevisiae calculated rate renaturation.
