摘要: Isogenic mutants of Porphyromonas gingivalis which differ in the expression fimbriae were used to examine contribution invasion a human oral epithelial cell line (KB). At multiplicity infection 100, wild-type P. strains 33277, 381, and A7436 exhibited adherence efficiencies 5.5, 0.11, 5.0%, respectively, 0.15, 0.03, 0.10%, respectively. However, KB cells was not detected with fimA mutants, DPG3 MPG1. Adherence completely inhibited by addition hyperimmune sera raised major fimbriae. Examination electron microscopy strain 381 revealed microvillus-like extensions around adherent bacteria; this observed fim mutants. Taken together, these results indicate that are required for cells.
