摘要: Aim of the current study was to investigate ability deltamethrin induce testicular injury in rats and its possible attenuation with lycopene. Rats were divided into three groups: Group I (DEL) received deltamethrin, 5 mg/kg b.w./day orally, corn oil. II (DEL + Lyc) oral dose lycopene (4 b.w./day) oil concurrently following same regimen as group I. III (Control) appropriate volume After 4 weeks, deltamethrin-treated showed decreased body weight, serum testosterone, luteinizing hormone follicle-stimulating levels. Testicular total oxidant capacity (TOC), nitrite/nitrate (NOx), poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP), DNA damage significantly increased. RT-PCR demonstrated significant up-regulation mRNA for glutathione-S-transferase heat-shock protein-70 (HSP-70), whereas steroidogenic acute regulatory (StAR) protein down-regulated after exposure. Lycopene able restore StAR mRNA, TOC, NOx levels, PARP activity decrease HSP-70 damage. In conclusion, counteract deleterious effect deltamethrin.
