摘要: Global amphibian declines are one of the biggest challenges currently facing conservation community, and captive breeding is way to address this crisis. Using information from International Species Information System zoo network, we examined trends in global holdings across species, region, species geographical region origin 1994 2014. These were compared before after 2004 Amphibian Assessment assess whether any changes occurred effort had increased. The numbers globally threatened (GTS) their proportional representation increased rate increase was significantly greater 2004. North American, European, Oceanian GTS best represented zoos globally, proportions held most since South American Asian lowest zoos. At a regional level, European GTS, proportion did not Since 1994, number viable populations has increased, these distributed among more institutions. However, as 2014, 6.2% amphibians, much smaller figure than for other vertebrate groups that falls considerably short which ex situ management may be desirable. Although have put into over past 20 years encouraging, focus needed on priority species. This includes building expertise capacity countries hold them tracking existing efforts if evidence-based approach planning at level further developed.
