摘要: Summary The bacterial pathogen Xanthomonas campestris pv. co-ordinates virulence factor production and biofilm dispersal through a diffusible signal (DSF)-mediated cell–cell communication mechanism. The RpfC/RpfG two-component system plays key role in DSF transduction appears to modulate downstream regulon by changing intracellular content of cyclic dimeric GMP (c-di-GMP), an unusual nucleotide second messenger. Here we show that Clp, conserved global regulator showing strong homology the cAMP receptor protein Crp Escherichia coli, is essential for regulation but not dispersal. Deletion clp Xcc changed transcriptional expression 299 genes including few encoding transcription factors. Further genetic microarray analysis led identification homologue Zur, novel TetR-type FhrR. These two regulatory factors regulated different sets within Clp regulon. results outline hierarchical signalling network which modulates biological functions, may also provide clue on how can be coupled its networks.
