摘要: Background and Purpose . Physical therapists (PTs) physical therapist assistants (PTAs) are susceptible to occupational musculoskeletal injuries. The purpose of this study was examine the reported causes prevalence injuries PTs PTAs during a 2-year period. Subjects. A questionnaire mailed 500 randomly selected from American Therapy Association 1996 active membership list. Six hundred sixty-seven questionnaires were returned, giving response rate 67%. Method. Based on literature review pilot study, an injury constructed mailed. Self-reports obtained. Results Thirty-two percent 35% sustaining injury. highest low back (62% injured 56% PTAs). upper wrist hand as having second (23%). (28%). making changes in their work habits improved body mechanics, increased use other personnel, frequent change position. majority they did not limit patient contact time or area practice after Conclusion Discussion Although recognized knowledgeable prevention treatment injuries, because performing labor-intensive tasks.
