High critical current Ag and Ag alloy sheathed multifilament Bi-2223 tapes

摘要: Ag sheathed (BiPb/sub 2/)Sr/sub 2/Ca/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 10/ (Bi-2223) multifilament tapes with filament numbers of 19, 37, 55, and 85 were produced by the powder-in-tube method. Enhanced tape performance has been achieved optimisation processing conditions. Key factors are addressed that include elimination 2212 phase, improving grain connectivity through reducing 2201 phase alkaline earth cuprate phases, increasing superconductor core density as well enhancing current contribution from edge filaments. A high J/sub c/ 50 kA/cm/sup 2/ an I/sub 42 reproducibly in 19 dimensions 0.16/spl times/2.8 mm/sup silver/superconductor ratios 4.4:1. By silver ratio, a e/ 14 48 obtained 55 84 4/spl times/0.23 2/. record more than 30 32 was 250 metres long standard tapes. 1250 m pure 1100 alloyed have higher 25 using optimised process parameters.
