摘要: Spaceborne synthetic aperture radars (SAR) are used as major instruments for operational oil spill detection and monitoring, this reason attract significant research interest. A large number of SAR images acquired collected over the Adriatic Sea provided high slicks to be analysed. These may come from different sources, natural anthropogenic, accidental or deliberate. Given examples detected on Envisat Radarsat-1 satellites in period 2003–2016. The were obtained mainly through projects ESA other sources. processed via software integrated using Geo-Mixer by SCANEX RDC (www.scanex.ru). We presented discussed most pronounced causes pollution, their sizes, shapes prevailing locations well distribution maps. Main sources considered due routine tank washing operations illegal discharges. is a small semi-enclosed sea, accidents could have far reaching consequences encompassing countries. Because general regime circulation its variability coast Croatia highly vulnerable. Presented also geographical geological features physical properties Sea, particularly those relevant transport dispersions pollution. Discussed possible threats Croatian coastal communities, regarding increased new investigation exploration, some which about executed Southern Middle Adriatic, already going west coast.
