摘要: Abstract Nickel supported on activated carbon can be used for the vapor phase carbonylation of methanol, producing methyl acetate and acetic acid as products. In contrast to previous reports, a strong influence support performance catalyst, in terms both activity stability, was observed current study. The effect appears related pore size distribution support. Catalysts prepared large carbons are less active than catalysts smaller but show no deactivation over time stream. mechanism consistent with adsorption methanol reaction products that plugs catalyst pores leads increasingly diffusion limitations
