摘要: A virtual memory system and method enable a computer (120) to use address space larger than the size of physical primary (104) while swapping few, if any, pages out secondary memory. Primary is divided into work (122), used for storing uncompressed in current use, 'Compression Heap' (124). MappedOut storage (130), which includes Compression Heap portion memory, store all swapped (122). manager (110) dynamically determines number need be included space, moves from (124) as needed.
