摘要: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, adult-onset neurodegenerative disorder manifesting as relentless loss of motor capabilities and, ultimately, death. Traditionally thought to affect solely the lower neurons and corticospinal tracts, recent studies suggest that pathogenic process ALS more extensive, involving dysfunction cortical grey white matter with clinical correlates impairment in cognition language. The impact speech deficits are discussed relation issues assessment Three case presented for illustrative purposes. Finally, directions future research investigate cognitive presented.
