Underreporting of Road Traffic Casualties

摘要: This report is a follow-up of the 1994 IRTAD Special Report on “Underreporting road traffic accidents reported by police at international level”. The highlights need to assess real magnitude safety issues, which requires having better understanding volumes casualties. Based questionnaire sent all members, this reviews known causes underreporting and experience 22 responding countries suggests method estimate rate underreporting. Finally it provides set recommendations improve data reporting mechanism. paper intended create larger awareness underreporting, generate greater opportunities available gain more insight into actual involved.
