摘要: The sunset fading effect, or flutter fading, is a phenomenon sometimes observed on radio signals reflected from the F region of ionosphere when reflection point near magnetic equator. effect was investigated in Ghana using direct observation carrier level, fading-rate meter, and Doppler technique. It found that occurs between midnight, has equinoctial maximums, correlates positively with sunspot cycle. rate directly proportional to frequency. suggested coherent scatter elongated irregularities could account for correlation radio-star scintillations results.
