摘要: Fine resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) requires wideband signals to be transmitted and received. Electronically steered phased-array antennas have difficulty steering without the use of expensive and cumbersome true time delay elements. Otherwise more desirable phase shifters are by themselves inadequate the task. Wideband radar can generated from series or groups narrow-band centered at different frequencies. A Linear FM (LFM) chirp assembled lesser-bandwidth segments. The chirp segments as separate pulses, each with their own operation. Each segment's bandwidth would essentially itself. Doing so allows pulse alone. This overcomes problematic dilemma chirps alone. True time-delay elements not required.
