摘要: This paper presents an original device to enhance dielectrophoresis (DEP) effects through novel geometry of the electrodes. Implemented with a simple single-layer metal process, our microchip consists individually triangular-shaped electrodes in parallel array. When activated DEP waveforms, novel-shaped generate horizontal bands increasing electric fields. With these fields, dielectric microbeads suitable medium can be manipulated form straight line at predictable location over Further experiments show that is sensitive frequency applied waveforms. By changing frequencies, shifted vertically along In addition, movements achieved traveling wave DEP. accurate control both vertical and positions potential multi-lane separation strategy, delivers substantial improvements existing electrode array devices.
