摘要: Abstract Average diurnal variations of ionospheric electron and ion temperatures are predicted for April, July November 1963 at a typical mid-latitude station. The theory assumes heating by solar ultra-violet radiation, cooling collisions allows heat transport conduction. magnitudes the agree satisfactorily with observation but there significant differences between measured computed profiles temperature. present results consistent above 140 km rocket flights not derived from measurements incoherent back scatter.
