Key issues  Issues emerging were relate mainly economic, clinical management, education information technology factors further reductions cost base remains focused value for money. Conclusions  In Ireland achieving targets now sitting 13th place European index, down number 28 2008. This improvement position has resulted new work practices. Implications management  As a result reduction measures nurse managers will greater than ever before meeting objectives transformation programme.
