摘要: Fusarium verticillioides causes ear rot (FER) of maize and produces fumonisins, which affects grain quality. Host-plant resistance can reduce both FER fumonisins in maize. In this study, 18 inbred lines were evaluated for to F. fumonisin accumulation at five localities South Africa. Additive main effects multiplicative interaction analyses revealed significant environment × genotype interactions, with CML 390, US 2540W, RO 424W, VO 617y-2 consistently exhibiting low severity (≤5.4%), fungal target DNA (≤0.1 ng μl-1), levels (≤5.6 ppm). Genotype effect biplots showed that 424W most resistant FER, colonization, accumulation, respectively, while line was stable its response over environments. These also demonstrated broad adaptability by across localities. The identified could serve as valuable sources against local breeding programs.
