摘要: Objective : This study examined the intra-specific cranial morphometric variability between populations of Malacomys edwardsi from three distinct localities in Cote d’Ivoire. Methodology and results: The data set focused on 23 measurements recorded 158 skulls M. Adiopodoume (n = 43), Bolo 34) Tai 81). Sexual geographical variations were investigated using univariate multivariate statistics. No sexual dimorphism was recorded. However highly significant differences observed populations. a longitudinal clinal size variation for five measurements. Moreover, left bank Sassandra River are morphometrically closer to one another than those found right bank. Conclusions application findings: reveals that M.edwardsi exhibited local morphological differentiation. Additional studies needed better explain determinants this (local adaptation, phylogenetic history). is important both systematics conservation endemic species West African forests.
