摘要: Abstract The instability of a particle-laden flow subjected to velocity shear and differential particle loading was studied using the perturbation method. momentum equations for particles fluid are coupled at order variable. fluid-induced fluctuation is included explicitly. Therefore, it not necessary assume that immobile time-scale (i.e. large Stokes number). A modified Rayleigh equation derived. For piece-wise linear distribution step-function concentration distribution, dispersion an eighth-order polynomial equation, which solved numerical symbolic computation software MATHEMATICA. It found inertia only modifies but also gives rise second depends critically on loading. effects mass loading, number (the ratio response time time-scale), wave infinitesimal disturbance, were examined.
