摘要: P.m.r. measurements have been made on macroscopically-ordered samples of the smectic mesophase which occurs in mono-octanoin + water system. The angular dependence doublet splittings obtained from both alkyl chain and hydroxyl protons indicate that there is a measurable degree molecular ordering along direction perpendicular to lamellar planes mesophase. chains similar previously observed magnetically-ordered nematic mesophases. molecules much smaller magnitude comparable some hydrated silicates fibrous materials.
