摘要: Abstract The east margin of the Siberian craton is a typical passive with thick succession sedimentary rocks ranging in age from Mesoproterozoic to Tertiary. Several zones distinct structural styles are recognized and reflect an eastward-migrating depocenter. Mesozoic orogeny was preceded by several Paleozoic tectonic events. In South Verkhoyansk, most intense pre-Mesozoic event, 1000–950 Ma rifting, affected formed half-graben basins, bounded listric normal faults. Neoproterozoic compressional structures occurred locally, whereas extensional structures, related latest Neoproterozoic–early rifting events, have yet be identified. Devonian throughout eastern represented numerous faults local basins. Estimated shortening associated compression shows that inner parts ancient rifts now hidden beneath late Paleozoic–Mesozoic siliciclastics Verkhoyansk Complex only outer exposed frontal ranges thrust-and-fold belt. had various impacts on structures. Rifting at detachment were reactivated as thrusts characteristic foreland. Younger do not display any evidence for reactivation. initially east-dipping Late passively rotated during orogenesis west-dipping thrusts, but without significant reactivation displacement along fault surfaces.
