Electrical release of dopamine and levodopa mediated by amphiphilic β-cyclodextrins immobilized on polycrystalline gold

摘要: Vesicles of cationic amphiphilic β-cyclodextrins have been immobilized on polycrystalline gold by exploiting the chemical affinity between their amino groups and Au atoms. The presence cyclodextrins has widely investigated means AFM, XPS, kelvin probe electrochemical measurements. This multi-functional coating confers distinct features such as pH-dependent behavior partial/total blocking properties towards electro-active species. host-guest successfully exploited in order to trap drugs, like dopamine levodopa. further release these drugs was achieved providing specific electrical stimuli. proof-of-concept led us fabricate an electronic device (i.e. organic transistor) capable dispensing both levodopa aqueous solution.
