摘要: Background—Our objective for this study was to investigate whether nitric oxide (NO) modulates tissue respiration in the failing human myocardium. Methods and Results—Left ventricular free wall right samples were taken from 14 explanted hearts at time of transplantation. Tissue oxygen consumption measured with a Clark-type electrode an airtight stirred bath containing Krebs solution buffered HEPES 37°C (pH 7.4). Rate decrease concentration expressed as percentage baseline, results highest dose are indicated. Bradykinin (10−4 mol/L, −21±5%), amlodipine (10−5 −14±5%), ACE inhibitor ramiprilat −21±2%), neutral endopeptidase thiorphan −16±5%) all caused concentration-dependent decreases consumption.
