Degradation of poly(N‐vinylcarbazole) by annealing under iodine pressure

摘要: After room temperature doping of poly(N-vinylcarbazole) by iodine, the powders are annealed at different temperatures (370, 470, and 570 K) for 24 h under vacuum or iodine pressure. The obtained were studied infrared absorption, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance. Annealing pure PVK powder increases crystallization quality sample. with induces progressive polymer degradation. At K pressure is totally destroyed. aromatic rings C-N bonds have disappeared. NH 4 I crystallites formed, embeded in a degraded, cross-linked matrix.
