Piecewise linear recursive convolution for dispersive media using FDTD

摘要: Electromagnetic propagation through linear dispersive media can be analyzed using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method by employing recursive convolution (RC) approach to evaluate discrete time of electric field and dielectric susceptibility function. The RC results in a fast computationally efficient algorithm; however, accuracy achieved is not generally as good that obtained with other methods. A new piecewise (PLRC) described here has greatly improved over original but retains its speed efficiency advantages.
