摘要: Finding universal rules that predict the success of potential invaders is difficult given breadth interactions occur between invader and other species in its new range. Among animal species, behavioural traits may play an especially relevant role mediating these interactions. Whereas predatory behaviour invasive predators well documented, less known about how mediate prey species. Here we tested both amphipod Dikerogammarus villosus, a common fish predator, European perch, Perca fluviatilis, affect outcome predation events. Invasive D. villosus exhibited significantly greater sheltering exploratory than naturalized Gammarus roeseli. This increased appears to have major functional consequence as this was far likely be predated by perch. Contrary our predictions, individual perch had no influence on consumption either suggesting key determinant event. Our results highlight importance during events emphasize consideration antipredator potentially help improve predictions invasion success.
