A 24-Year Follow-up Study on Recidivism in Male Mentally Disordered Sexual Offenders With and Without Psychotic Disorders.

摘要: There is a lack of knowledge on mentally disordered sex offenders (MDSOs) targeting adult victims, especially regarding recidivism patterns and the specific subgroup with psychiatric disorders. This paper presents index offense data, clinical over up to 24 years in cohort 146 MDSOs, without psychotic disorders, sentenced Sweden between 1993 1997. At time offense, all were affected by clinical, developmental, criminal history factors. MDSOs disorders only marginally differed from those without, former being less likely have been institutionalized during childhood, intoxicated or diagnosed personality disorder, substance use paraphilic disorder. In cohort, 3.4% reconvicted for new 2 years, 9.6% 5 13.0% 10 17.1% entire follow-up period years. no subjects first while 2.6% 5.3% 7.9% Recidivism rates violent general reoffenses 39.0% 37.7%, respectively, reoffended significantly later offenses. conclusion, showed same pattern as Furthermore, research may preferably focus periods 5-10 since most appear recidivate within this timeframe.
