摘要: Each year, thousands of new oil and gas wells are drilled in the United States around world. The drilling process generates millions barrels waste each primarily used fluids (also known as muds) drill cuttings. wastes from most onshore U.S. disposed by removing liquids or reserve pits then burying remaining solids place (called pit burial). This practice has low cost approval regulatory agencies. However, there some environmental settings which burial is not allowed, such areas with high water tables. In offshore environment, many water-based synthetic-based muds cuttings can be discharged to ocean if discharge permit requirements met, but oil-based cannot at all. At facilities, must either hauled back shore for disposal onsite through an injection process.
