摘要: This paper gives an account of the issues at play in Europe with regard to transition a bio-based economy. Agricultural crops have always been used for production food, feed, fibre and fuel. The Model T Ford—the first mass produced car—originally ran on bioethanol, wood has use as source energy ever since discovery fire. What is new that balance between agricultural uses changing under pressure increasing need food well biofuels biomaterials. At basis this change lie several serious related current feedstock secure supply, future depletion natural resources global climate change. Innovations industrial biotechnology are expected crucial role dealing these biomass use.
