摘要: The surface movement of part a Nanga Par bat (Himalaya) glacier immediately below an ice fall has been investigated by terrestrial stereophotogrammetry. This method provides opportunity measuring many more points than using other procedures. shape the transverse velocity profile indicated normal stream-like flow and not "blockschollen movement", as might have expected, because its high (45 cm/ d) . But, one feature above had carried down-glacier to location ; namely, several discontinuities along diagram. transmitted small splitting into seracs flatter area below, but blockschollell movement. There seems be contradiction in that on side there are , i.e. is torn up blocks shear planes, moves ell bloc. In fact short-term investigation over hours or just few days discloses cracks but, after time periods week o r more, these irregularities compensate for another so y merge single unit block motion.
