摘要: Castor seeds were collected at 3- and 6-day intervals after blossoming until maturity. The analyzed for protein oil content the fatty acid conlposition of was determined by gas-liquid chromatography. Oil formation began 21 days two-thirds syrlthesized in next 20 days; remaining one-third formed last 20-day period. Protein synthesis occurred over a longer period ti~lle but accelerated during middle Ricinoleic acid, characteristic component castor oil, not present very young seed, appeared when seed 12 old represeiltecl 90% acids 36 old. After this time composition remained constailt characteristic. In intervening 24-day period, amount ricinoleic lower than normal. each compo~le!lt, expressed on per basis, increased entire development there no evidence substantial conversion oleic or linoleic to acid.
