摘要: A new characteristic-based method for the solution of 2D laminar incompressible Navier-Stokes equations is presented. For coupling continuity and momentum equations, artificial compressibility formulation employed. The primitives variables (pressure velocity components) are defined as functions their values on characteristics. characteristics calculated by an upwind diffencing scheme based sign local eigenvalue Jacobian matrix convective fluxes. uses interpolation formulae third-order accuracy. time discretization obtained explicit Runge–Kutta method. Validation performed two different cases: flow in a simple cascade over backwardfacing step.
