摘要: OBJECTIVE Older age is associated with lower rates of breast reconstruction (BR) for women requiring mastectomy. This study compared patient-reported outcomes between aged 60 years and older who had received mastectomy BR those no (NBR). METHODS About 135 60 or over treated 2009 2016 only (N = 87) (N = 48) primary cancer completed outcome measures using a set validated questionnaires. Reasons choosing declining were also explored nonvalidated RESULTS Patients generally younger (P = <0.001) reported greater satisfaction their bodies (P = 0.048) than NBR patients. autologous breasts implant-based Both patients good quality life, low pain scores, body image, levels decisional regret. CONCLUSIONS These data do not identify any life-related reasons to offer clinically fit, well-informed the option BR.
