Heme oxygenase-1 and gut ischemia/reperfusion injury: A short review

摘要: Ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury of the gut is a significant problem in variety clinical settings and associated with high morbidity mortality. Although mechanisms involved pathogenesis I/R have not been fully elucidated, it generally believed that oxidative stress subsequent inflammatory plays an important role. Heme oxygenase (HO) rate-limiting enzyme catabolism heme, followed by production CO, biliverdin, free iron. The HO system to confer cytoprotection inhibiting inflammation, oxidation, apoptosis, maintaining microcirculation. HO-1, inducible form HO, serves vital metabolic function as step heme degradation pathway, affords protection models intestinal injury. HO-1 player condition, may offer new targets for management this condition.
