摘要: Pyrimidine base pairs in DNA duplexes selectively capture metal ions to form ion-mediated pairs, which can be evaluated by thermal denaturation, isothermal titration calorimetry, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. In this critical review, we discuss the ion binding of pyrimidine bases (thymine, cytosine, 4-thiothymine, 2-thiothymine, 5-fluorouracil) duplexes. Thymine-thymine (T-T) cytosine-cytosine (C-C) Hg(II) Ag(I) ions, respectively, metallo-base T-Hg(II)-T C-Ag(I)-C, are formed The properties pyrimidine-pyrimidine changed small chemical modifications. selectivity a 5-fluorouracil-5-fluorouracil pair duplex switched changing pH solution. Two silver bind each thiopyrimidine-thiopyrimidine duplexes, largely stabilized. Oligonucleotides containing these commercially available readily applied many scientific fields (86 references).
