摘要: Eyewitnesses often have to recognize the perpetrators of an observed crime from identity lineups. In construction these lineups, a decision must be made concerning where suspect should placed, but whether location in lineup affects identification perpetrator has received little attention. This study explored this problem with face-matching task, which observers decided if pairs faces depict same person or two different people (Experiment 1), and task presence target had detected parade five 2). addition, also high accuracy is related perceptual pop-out effect, whereby rapidly among lineup. both experiments, observers’ eye movements revealed that determines order were viewed, on left side consistently viewed first. effect was reflected responses, so foil face display more likely misidentified as target. However, not effect. The implications findings are discussed.
