摘要: The list of connexin-interacting proteins continues to grow along with the complexity potential roles for these factors in gap junctional function and regulation. A recent study using a pull down assay carboxy terminal tail connexin 43 (Cx43) as bait indicated that at least dozen may bind this region molecule (Giepmans et al., 2001). similarly large group Cx43 binding partners was also from yeast two hybrid studies 1998; Jin 2000). Together, data indicate complex variety regulatory interactions exist cytoplasmic surface Cx43-containing plaque. This level control by interacting permit subtle differences distribution which allow fine tuning intercellular communication (GJIC). Although some connexin-binding are known, many others have yet be identified characterized. task will important next generation researchers it is increasingly becoming clear critical essential functions tissues cells.
