摘要: Nitrate assimilation has received much attention in filamentous fungi and plants but not so yeasts. Recently the availability of classical genetic molecular biology tools for yeast Hansenula polymorpha allowed advance study this metabolic pathway The genes YNT1, YNR1 YNI1, encoding respectively nitrate transport, reductase nitrite reductase, have been cloned, as well two other transcriptional regulatory factors. All these lie closely together a cluster. Transcriptional regulation is main mechanism that controls levels enzymes involved metabolism although mechanisms may also be operative. process sensing signalling presence medium understood. In article current state studies yeasts possible venues future research are reviewed.
