摘要: Abstract Introduction EGFR gene somatic mutation is reportedly homogeneous. However, there are few data regarding the heterogeneity of expression mutant protein and copy number, especially in extrathoracic lesions. These types may enhance our understanding the biology -mutated lung cancer and our heterogeneous response patterns to TKIs. Methods An 81-year-old never-smoking female with adenocarcinoma could not receive any systemic therapy because her poor performance status. After death, 15 tumor specimens from different sites were obtained by autopsy. Expression gene numbers assessed by immunohistochemical analysis silver situ hybridization, respectively. Heterogeneity these aberrations was compared between metastatic (distant versus lymph node) or histological structures (micropapillary nonmicropapillary). Results All lesions showed positive staining for protein, except 40% papillary component one pulmonary metastases (weak below the 1+ threshold). mutant-specific evaluated H-score, was significantly higher micropapillary components than nonmicropapillary (Mann-Whitney U test, p = 0.014). number quite but correlated structure form. similar each lesion. Conclusion indicate that do change as a consequence progression. This also justifies using biopsy surrogate primary tumors.
