摘要: Carotid body tumors seem to be encountered more frequently in people living at high altitudes. Twenty lesions operated 19 patients a general hospital Quito, Ecuador over period of only 5 years are reported. All lived the highlands Andean region. There was no operative mortality, and morbidity comparable other series. No malignant cases were found. A higher degree suspicion recognize operate an earlier stage development thereby diminish is recommended. The great reliability contrast angiogram noninvasive diagnostic techniques stressed. study incidence this lesion entire country should made future.
